Not too long ago, I was a stressed out working mom. I worked for top finiancial companies which required long robotic hours. I still feel that the last 5 years of my life is a big blurr. I did not enjoy it as I should have, thereby learning a huge lesson. Don't let your job consume you! Life is too short, before you know it 5 years have gone by and you have done nothing for yourself. Its okay to pamper yourself, not by running to a nail salon or to a massage therapist ( although it is always fun to get pampered if you have the money). You have to make some time to relax and unwind.
I am a big time research nerd and love finding out new and interesting facts, rituals and myths. As I was doing my research on exotic ingredients I felt the need to share this crazy desire to make Hawaiian Red Salt body scrub. The exotic Alaea salt was used for centuries in Hawaiian blessing rituals. Traditionally, it is said that Hawaiians uses Alaea salt in ceremonies to cleanse, purify and bless tools and canoes, as well, in healing rituals for medicinal purposes. This ancient and natural red salt is from the volcanic clay in the sea.
After having my first child, I felt the need to do something for myself. I felt that I was always doing this for my family, husband, son, relatives, co-workers, etc. I needed an outlet. A way to express myself and utilize my professional skills and combine it with my creative nature. I was always good in science and found that field to be very intriguing. However, once I started a professional career, all that creativity and interest went down the drain. My husband noticed this void and said I need a hobby other than shopping for handbags, candles, body products and makeup.
